Joe Welch
Christian Counselor
Joe holds an M.S. in Christian Counseling degree from Cairn University and is certified by the Board of Christian Professional and Pastoral Counselors. A born-and-bred South Philadelphian, Joe has called Philly home for his entire life. Joe began as a volunteer at the Philadelphia Access Center when the doors first opened in 2004 and joined staff shortly thereafter. Joe provides one-on-one counseling to guests in addition to teaching the Coram Deo Men’s Bible Study and Christian Fellowship. He is a Metro Outreach Partner with Tenth Presbyterian Church where he is a member. Joe has a passion and love for the people he serves and desires to see Christ formed in them. His favorite part of his service is watching the Holy Spirit illuminate the hearts and minds of guests. Joe currently resides in South Philadelphia with his sons, Sean and Danny, and his granddaughter, Mya. In his free time, Joe plays saxophone with the Gloucester City String Band where he is an assistant musical director and serves as chaplain.
